Types of Floating Drum Oil Skimmers

1. Electrically Driven

Specially coated Oleophilic drums are driven by On board 3 Phase 1/2 HP motor coupled with single stage gear box. The oil sticking to the drum surface is wiped off by Teflon wipers and pumped out by On board Oil vacuum pump to the external oil collection tank.

2. Pneumatically Driven

Specially coated Oleophilic drums are driven by On board Air motors which are driven by Air compressors present in the on shore. The oil sticking to the drum surface is wiped off by Teflon wipers and pumped out by external AODD pump(Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pump) to external oil collection tank.

3. Hydraulically Driven

Specially coated Oleophilic grooved drums are driven by On board hydraulic motor and pump. The oil sticking to the drum surface is wiped off by Teflon wipers and pumped out using On board hydraulic Centrifugal pump and motor. Both hydraulic motors are driven by external Hydraulic Power Pack (Electrical driven or Diesel driven) on shore.
